A former school house, Hawthorne Lofts is a unique, cool, funky condo conversion in Philadelphia’s Hawthorne neighborhood. Consisting of 53 condos and ranging from studios to two bedrooms these condos are all bi-level…minus the units on the first floor. The amenities here are really cool. They include a community room with TV and billiards, a solid fitness center – with sauna and steam room, one of the nicer communal laundry rooms I have seen, and a superb, spacious communal roof deck with AMAZING Philadelphia skyline views. There is a parking lot adjacent to the building in which most of the condos have parking. As cool and as hip as the building is, that’s as funky as some of the layouts are. Unfortunately, I saw one of the least functional one bedroom floor plans I have ever seen in this building. However, that’s not to say that there aren’t great units at Hawthorne Lofts with functional space. This is an elevator building and it is pet friendly. These condos boast granite counters, hardwood floors, and stainless steel appliances, along with, a variety of modern finishes.
