Peter Zimmerman Architects designed this stone house, following the vernacular style of the region – Pennsylvania Dutch. The brilliant design incorporates seventy percent of the space on the main floor, and presents a plausible story of how the house may have evolved over time, had it actually been built in the 1800s. The homeowners found many of the interior components of the home, such as the staircase and main foyer wainscoting, which was rescued from the Paradise Lost, Hoch-High Farm at Poplar Neck. Brick flooring for the porches, et al, is from historic Philadelphia sources. The main level cellar door also came from Hoch-High House. Also important in the design of this remarkable home was the relationship of the inside and the outside. Most of the living spaces take full advantage of the unbelievably stunning views of the property, gardens and ponds. Truly indescribable, this beautiful home is unmatched in the area.
